On the corner of Halton Terrace and Old Carp Road, Village in the Schoolyard Inc. is proposing a four-storey low-rise apartment building containing 86 rental units. The building will be complemented by 45 bicycle parking spaces and 121 vehicle parking spaces, including 18 visitor spaces. The building will include underground parking as well as surface parking.
The proposed development requires a Zoning By-law Amendment and Site Plan Control Approval to permit a low-rise apartment dwelling on the property. All required lot dimensions and setbacks are met or exceeded.
In addition to the low rise apartment building, five new lots have been created for future single-detached dwellings, helping fill out the existing streetscape of residential dwellings. The building has been carefully and thoughtfully designed to align with the surrounding neighbourhood, with visually interesting and attractive architectural details that create a pleasing streetscape experience.
The Zoning By-law Amendment and Site Plan Control applications have been digitally submitted and are currently being reviewed by City Planning staff. Submission materials are available on the devapps website.
